Systemic Inflammation Fertility Test

Patients seek out fertility testing and treatment when they have difficulty becoming or staying pregnant. Standard testing includes analyzing semen and reproductive hormones in the blood, as well as checking to see if the fallopian tubes are open or blocked. Some men and women are found to have abnormalities in these basic tests, while others are told they have “unexplained infertility”. Irrespective of what their fertility doctor finds to be the reason(s) they are having trouble achieving a successful pregnancy, there IS a “stone that is typically left unturned”, and this stone is a very common cause of ill-health and fertility failure. Inflammation is defined as a local or generalized response to cellular injury marked by capillary dilatation, leukocytic infiltration, redness, heat, pain, swelling, and often the loss of function. Inflammation serves as a mechanism to eliminate noxious agents from damaged tissues. Chronic (ongoing, long-term) inflammation is associated with various medical problems such as Alzheimer’s Disease, cardiovascular disease, hypertension, liver dysfunction, arthritis, depression, Irritable Bowel Syndrome, chronic fatigue, and cancer. But did you know that inflammation can cause sperm and egg quality to plummet? Or are you aware that inflammation around the uterus can cause a hostile environment for a pregnancy/baby that needs to implant, grow, develop, and be nourished there for three quarters of a year?! There are multiple reasons why men and women have chronic inflammation, and the healthcare experts at IVFMD can pinpoint these sources. As an example, there is an epidemic of obesity in the U.S., and we know that fat cells act like tiny factories producing substances called cytokines. Cytokines induce inflammation; the more fat we have, the more cytokine we produce; the more cytokine we produce, the more inflammation we have throughout our bodies. At IVFMD, our renowned, cutting-edge fertility practice is well aware of the effects inflammation has on health and reproductive outcome. We help to create healthy moms, healthy dads, healthy pregnancies, and healthy babies (because if you don’t have your health, you have nothing). Properly diagnosing and treating inflammation is just one of the many reasons our patients enjoy pregnancy success rates among the highest in the nation. We are proud to announce the development of our Systemic Inflammation Fertility Test (SIFT). This advanced assessment examines multiple key circulating blood factors known to induce inflammation. Once the blood test is completed, our fertility experts calculate your “reproductive inflammatory index” and formulate an individualized plan for lifestyle intervention and natural supplementation to effectively reduce your inflammation and increase your odds of good health and reproductive success.
