Helping patients achieve one of their ultimate goals in life inspires Molly. “And what other field of medicine allows you to be there when life is actually conceived?” she says. “There are few other fields that are still advancing and breaking new ground at the pace of fertility.”
Molly is glad to not only educate patients but to provide emotional support and the relief of sharing their infertility struggles with someone else. “Once a patient was in tears on the phone because it was so comforting to be able to share her fertility issues openly with someone,” she says. “She felt like she couldn’t talk to family and friends because it’s a highly personal subject, and not everyone shares the same views.”
Molly gained experience in IVF as a clinical nurse at Greenwich Fertility for over two years, and prior to that was a nurse at Bridgeport Hospital. Molly earned a B.S. degree from the University of Connecticut and an accelerated B.S. in nursing from Quinnipiac University.
Advocating for patients and helping them navigate through the confusing and sometimes difficult world of fertility is Molly’s favorite part of her job. “I love when my patients tell me that I’ve made them breath a little easier or that they no longer feel alone because they know someone is on their side, even just to listen,” she says. Molly feels that the WIN team works together to try to get results for patients as quickly as they can. “Our patients expect and deserve the excellent care that we are willing and able to provide,” she says.
She thinks it’s important for patients to remember that not everything you see on the internet is true. “Sometimes patients seek out advice from others on the internet who have gone through what they’re going through, and all though their intentions may be good, not everything you find on the internet is from trusted, evidence-based sources,” Molly says. “False information could cause more undue stress and worry, and fertility patients do not need any more of that.”
Molly lives in Connecticut with her husband and their two rescue dachshunds. She’s passionate about animals and volunteers every week at a local animal shelter. She enjoys reading, cooking, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.
